The Effects of Procrastination in a Home Based Business

Home Based Business Procrastination is the Plague of Entrepreneurs
By Paulette Sherb

Home based business procrastination is the plague of entrepreneurs that can negatively impact your dreams of success. Work at home puts you in the drivers seat. You are the employer, the employee and the head of all the departments. You are the boss and the only person responsible for getting the work done. Putting off your business activities is a temptation you should avoid at all costs. It can seriously cripple or even destroy your previous hard work. Stamp out home based business procrastination to cure the plague of entrepreneurs.

Reputation is everything in a home based business. Creating customer trust is a never ending process. Delivering on your promises is the only way to establish a long term relationship. Everybody likes to play hooky from time to time. When it becomes a habit, it is inevitable that you will get behind on your promises. That is the fastest way to lose a customer.

Work from home, especially when you work online, means that you can set your own work schedule and make your own rules. Your choice of product or service will ultimately determine the amount of work you need to do to create an income. For instance, if you are turning a hobby into an income generating business, you will have to factor in the time it takes to create your product for sale. You will also need to devote a significant amount of time marketing your new business opportunity.

Sometimes the tasks at hand can seem to be overwhelming. It can be difficult to prioritize and get started when everything seems to be the most important thing to do. When you work alone the weight of responsibility can be paralyzing. Pushing through the feeling of overwhelm and starting on a small task helps to get your motivation flowing. Once you are in work mode it is easier to move from one task to the next. Before you know it you will have worked through you list of things to do.

An alternative to creating your own product of service is affiliate marketing. Companies who have adopted an affiliate marketing plan will offer their products to you. When you enter into an affiliate program agreement you immediately have products, marketing materials which often includes a professional website to aid in your promotions. Every time you make a sale you will earn a commission. You have your own business and the ability to create long term residual income.

Regardless of the type of home based business you choose, you will have to be totally committed and focused on doing whatever is necessary to build your business. Setting and following a schedule will help to minimize home based business procrastination, the plague of the entrepreneur.

Paulette Sherb, CEO and founding member of the Tri Power Team, can not keep a "secret". Free Business Development webinars reveal how you can eliminate the 2 biggest challenges every home based business owner faces. Time Management for Your Home Based Business

Time Management - How Important is It?
By Scott Cameron

One of the most dreaded things when it comes to our daily job is that we are told by our employer when we have to work. They tell us when we have to be at work, how long we have to stay there and when we can go home. And if we don't follow their directions we don't have a job. In reality, we are giving our employer our time in exchange for a pay cheque.

Having your own home based business changes all this. Your time is now truly yours, so be careful how you use it. You should start by forgetting about that particular phrase, because you no longer use your time, you now have to manage your time. It doesn't sound like much, but there is a difference. A very important difference. If you don't learn how to manage your time you will most likely find that you don't have enough of it.

Working from home is a serious change for most people. It will first seem like you have all the time in the world to get things done. Since you are in charge of your time you get to decide when you work. A nice thought, at first. For example, maybe you have to make a few phone calls, but you just put it off until later. After all you do have all day. Or maybe you will sit down later in the evening to do a few things. Before you know it, the day is over and you haven't gotten around to do some of the things that needed getting done. But, you have all day tomorrow, right?

You can be certain that if you fail to manage your time, you will fail at your home based business. It is that simple. And many people do not learn how to manage their time. They use their time, rather than manage it. They use it for doing things that are not important to building a successful business. Why? Because they make the mistake of thinking that they have all the time in the world to get things done. Before they know it they are out of time. The cycle has begun. And it is not long in beginning. Many people who are new to the work at home industry find themselves in this situation and it can be devastating.

Learning how to manage your time takes practice and determination. There are so many distractions when working at home that if you do not control the situations, they will soon control you. However, if you can learn how to manage your time efficiently, you will be able to do many other things and still get your work related activities completed. It will take lots of self discipline but it is a necessity if you are to succeed in building your home based business.

You are now in charge of your time and you better manage it wisely. There are only twenty-four hours in each day and we have to make the best of it. Mastering your time management will allow you to complete your work related tasks and still give you time for other commitments. If you don't manage your time you will become so disorganized that you'll find you have no time to get anything done. You just don't have enough time!

Mastering the Internet for Your Home Based Business

Home Based Business - Mastering the Internet As a Business Medium
By Paulette Sherb

Home based business online can be characterized by speed, ease and affordable costs to bring your product or service to market. Traditional business requires a huge capital commitment just to develop a feasible business plan and well before opening the doors to the consumer. Marketing on the Internet gives average people the ability to commit a relatively small amount of money to start a home based business.

The Internet is still the Information Highway! People log on every day to search out information that solves a problem or educates them about the searched topic of interest. Internet marketing is driven by information. Learning how to provide the information people are looking for with a solution to the problem they are trying to solve is the fastest way to success on the Internet.

There a many ways that an individual can make sales and ultimately make money online. Regardless of the process you choose to follow, the underlying basis of every choice is still information. Marketing online still follows many of the same principles as any other business but they are implemented in a slightly different manner.

There are two major types of home based business online. You can either be a merchant, with your own products, or an affiliate marketer referring customers and earning commissions from the sale of a merchant product. Affiliate marketing generally has a lower start up cost and can usually be started on the same day that you make the decision to become an affiliate marketer.

Decidedly, affiliate marketing is a much easier way to get started online. The product, marketing and sales and delivery systems are already in place. Market research is already done and a market has already been identified. Many affiliate programs will provide advertising and promotional tools to get you started. Your role is to refer customers to purchase the product for which you will be compensated by the merchant.

Marketing online may sound simple, and in many ways it is, but you must still have an unshakeable desire to succeed. The secret to success is and always has been you. Choose your business well and make success your only option when you start your home based business.

The Tri Power Team uses a Cooperative Marketing Strategy based on regular customer acquisition. Customers are the basic foundation of every business. The more customers you have the more successful your business will be. We never have to buy leads. Its Good Business!

The Tri Power Team is a group of entrepreneurs who see a better way to build a home based business online. There is no "I" in team. We work together to solve the 2 biggest challenges every home business owner faces.

By pooling our talents we are working with the skills and knowledge we already possess for the good of all. We build teams of qualified business owners and teach them to be mentors and leaders of a strong and healthy business opportunity.

Step by Step in SEO - Part 7 - The Importance of Having a Website

Part 7 - Step by Step SEO - Why You Need a Web Site For SEO!
By Jim Eberle

I am going through the whole process of basic SEO (search engine optimization) in getting a web site to the top of search engine result pages which includes just what SEO really is and what it is about.

This is the seventh article in this series.

Just for the fact that if you are reading this document, you probably are aware of the need to have a web site.

There are those who might stumble across this though who do "not" know why. They have joined a home based business who have "given" them not one, but several web sites for all of their needs.

Because of this, it is an issue that needs addressed!

Whenever you enter into a business opportunity in which you receive a cooky cutter type web site, the problem is..."You can not make any changes to it". You can not personalize it or optimize it for search engine optimization. It is the exact duplicate of thousands upon thousands of other affiliates in that specific company. The only difference between any of them is the affiliate ID number that you are given.

So what!

So what means this...You are now forced to create a list of friends, family members, and acquaitances to harass into getting involved with you or purchasing your product. This hardly "ever" works and why even do it? All it does is maybe create problems in your relationships.

More experienced marketers fall into this trap as well. When they get into internet type businesses (usually products) that will offer a web site and marketing materials such as sales pages, specific graphics, one time offer pages (OTO), etc. etc. that you can use to sell "their" product and get a commission. They do not work well because they are selling the same product to possible hundreds and thousands of others. You fail because the competition for that particular product using the same tools is overwhelming.

You must have your own web site that you can manipulate. If for any reason, optimizing it for the search engines. The quality of traffic obtained from search engines is by far the highest quality of leads you can get.

Those people are searching for what you have to offer!

The next part of this series will briefly discuss web site creation.

I am currently working with a diverse team of like minded individuals in a co-op type atmosphere to build our business opportunity. This growing team currently consists of people from Ireland, Australia, England, Canada, and the United States. This team of network marketers are combining our efforts to obtain high positions in search engines like Google for higher level type keyword phrases.

Where as many people usually fail when trying to build a home based business to supplement their incomes, we work together to ensure everyone has success. Anyone who becomes affiliated with us becomes successful as that is how "we" as a group become successful!

The goal here of course is for many people doing a little instead of several people doing a lot to ensure that success. All traffic and customers are derived from SEO. We do not call anyone unless they request it. We have a number of web sites but I can only submit two here. To learn more go to...

Home Based Business Niches

Finding a Niche For a Home Based Business
By Darrell Lischka

Do you have a computer with a fast Internet connection for a home based business?

Was English your strongest subject in high school and/or college?

Are you fluent in other languages?

Are you a skilled programmer?

Can you design a website?

If yes, you have the needed tools to start earning money on the World Wide Web. There is a generalized need for skilled programmers, writers and/or translators. Businesses who advertise on the internet require experienced writers to deliver strong sales letters, persuasive copy, general culture articles and precise translations to and from a wide array of languages. They also look for affordable programmers and webs designers to sell their goods. If you possess these skills, you can easily and cheaply set up your own home based business.

You don't even need to spend money on your own website, though having one is certainly recommended as you can drive traffic to the site where people may see what you offer and check the samples you include there. There are many middlemen on the web who post the needed jobs such as Elance, LinkedIn, Freelance Writing, etc. All you need to do is register to be able to bid on the assignments offered by buyers. Some sites will ask for a monthly fee, while others will simply take a commission out of the transaction (usually between 5% and 8%). In addition to these sites, others will pay you a percentage of the traffic to your posted article, since they will encase your work in the middle of ads, usually Google AdWords. You will need some outstanding piece to attract enough visitors to make it interesting money wise.

Here's a niche that is always in demand at a website called WordZone. This website acts as a facilitator for businesses that need superior translation in any language. With the global economic downturn, many companies are searching for new customers wherever they may be located in the world. That means translating their website, their sales letters and answering queries from clients who do not speak English. Some of the languages required at WordZone are: Japanese, German, Dutch, Italian, English, and Spanish.

As well, check out Worldwideworkathome, a site specializing in connecting translators to potential clients. A good translator may make a good living working at home, especially in difficult languages such as Chinese and Arabic. You benefit in a couple of major ways. You can make money in your own business opportunity and still contribute to your families financial obligations. You could also check out directly with major telephone companies like AT&T to see if your language is needed. Currently their translation line offers over 160 languages to emergency services like EMS, Fire and Police services.

Programmingfromhome is another site that offers hundreds of programming jobs while working at home, the type of jobs known as telecommuting. With companies looking to cut their operating costs, they are looking at individuals to outsource some of their work. Some of the programming languages needed are: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, mySQL, and XML. A good idea is to post your resume, which should be very concise and to the point - on the web to places like monster.com. Join as many social networks as possible, such as Facebook or LinkedIn, and advertise your skills. Sooner or later you will be receiving offers in your email. The key is to get out there and brand your name.

Remember, setting up your own home based business is no easy task. It requires time, effort, dedication and an iron will to succeed. It is like any regular business venture, except that the investment is much lower in money and equipment. A good idea would be to team up with a person who complements your own skills. That would enable you to tackle bigger and better paid jobs. Seek out and look to fill a niche that is in demand like those mentioned above.

Make it a great day!

Starting a Home Based Business - 7 Reasons

Seven Reasons For Starting a Home Based Business
By Scott Cameron

The thought of being your own boss has a special appeal for many people. There is something about being in charge of your own affairs and not having to depend on the decisions of others to make a living. It gives you a sense of power or control over your life rather than being dictated to by someone else. But being in business can also be very frustrating when things do not run as smooth as you would like. And believe me, there are some rough times when you operate your own home based business.

If you are thinking about starting a home based business here are a list of reasons that may help you make the decision, one way or the other. They are in no special order, since what is important to one person may not be as important to another. Regardless, take a look and see if any of these reasons are similar to the ones you may have on your mind.

1. You Want To Earn Extra Income OR Replace Your Current Income - This has to be one of the most popular reasons why people want to start their own business.

2. You Are Tired Of Working For Someone Else - Sometimes we just get tired of the people we work for or with, and a home based business is one way out of that situation.

3. You Want To Be Close To Your Children During The Day - Many people would love to be closer to their children during the day, making themselves available when possible.

4. You Have Become Tired Of The Daily Commute - Do you spend too much time traveling to your work place? Just think of the hours wasted in heavy traffic.

5. You Want To Have More Control Of Your Time - Having your own home based business means you are in charge of your time, when you work and when you relax.

6. You Are A Very Motivated Person - If you want to be successful with any type of business, you better be motivated.

7. You Need A Change In Your Life - Sometimes we just need to make a change in our life. We find ourselves in a rut and want out!

There are countless reasons for wanting to have your own business. Whatever the reasons are you have to be sure that you have looked at all the angles. Don't take going into business lightly. It is serious and you must be prepared to make a full time commitment or your probability of success will be low. The above reasons are some of the ones that I gave consideration to before I decided to take advantage of a home based business opportunity.

I chose an MLM company, well, actually a number of them, before finally realizing what I had to do to be successful. Once I changed my focus and my attitude I started to learn about business. Educating yourself is so important if you are serious about being in business. Regardless the reasons you have for going into any type of business, make sure they are the right reasons.
